How often do you feel overwhelmed? You know what I mean: everything from family responsibilities and household chores to working the 9-to-5 job to trying, without success, to find time for yourself, explicitly setting aside a few hours to sit and write. Frustrating.

The point is that even this feeling of being overwhelmed, the multitude of things running around in circles in your head. Even this can be a source of inspiration.

Then there’s my writing career; I enjoy writing immensely when I have the time. Finding the time is the trick, though. It’s so easy to say: set aside some time to write or a time block to do your writing. Just sit and get to it, blah blah blah.

The last month has been infernally busy, and it feels like nothing has been done. Don’t get me wrong—plenty of things have happened, and as I said, it is a busy time—but the feeling that nothing has been completed nags at me constantly.

But the reality isn’t like that unless you are in the envious position of being a full-time writer; we have many other responsibilities. This isn’t a moan, so don’t get me wrong. It’s just life.
